Description
The inspiration to create this image was based on the freedom we have in Christ and the need we have to be constantly reminded of that fact. Christ set those who have believed in Him free from the power of sin "once and for all" (1 Peter 3:18). His grace is sufficient (2 Cor. 12:9) and is what truly makes us free. Notice the chains on the shackles of the arms of the man in the image. If you count the chain links, it is the 7th one that is broken to set him free. The imagery here is that 7 is the perfect number according to scripture and is also known as the "Christ number." The outside of the prison wall represents heaven and the inside of the wall represents this world. The light shining in through the window represents the glory of God and his radiance. It is my hope that those who have placed their faith in Christ are constantly reminded of the freedom we have today and for eternity.
